BACKGROUND
I grew up in a small town in the northwest corner of Rhode Island, where I’ve spent most of my life. In 2010, I earned a BFA in Studio Art from Rhode Island College, concentrating in painting and printmaking. After graduation, I worked for several years as a textile designer, but found myself creatively blocked and unfulfilled in a conventional 9–5 office setting.
During that time, I developed a deep interest in holistic healing approaches, including nutrition, alternative medicine, and the connection between mind and body. This eventually led me to Salve Regina University’s Holistic Clinical Mental Health program, where I pursued graduate training that integrated expressive arts therapy with whole-person mental health care.
I completed my clinical internship on the Young Adult Partial Unit at Butler Hospital, a psychiatric facility in Providence, RI, where I provided individual and group therapy to clients facing a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. My training included elements of CBT, DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused work. I continued working at the hospital as a program therapist before relocating to Austin in early 2022.
Today, I remain passionate about creativity, healing, and ongoing learning. I read widely—especially on topics related to holistic wellness, nutrition, somatics, and the iatrogenic harm that can arise from the mental health system, allopathic healthcare, and pharmacology. I’m committed to offering care that is thoughtful, critical, and always evolving.
